Nun Gives Birth In Italy 'Unaware Of Pregnancy'

A Salvadorean nun who said she had no idea she was pregnant gave birth in Italy this week after she felt stomach cramps in her convent and was rushed to hospital. The 31-year-old mother and her baby boy, who weighs 3.5 kilogrammes (nine pounds), are doing well and other new mothers in Rieti hospital have begun collecting clothes and donations for her.
"I did not know I was pregnant. I only felt a stomach pain," the nun was quoted as saying at the hospital. La The nun named her baby Francesco (Francis) — also the pope's chosen title and one of the most popular names in Italy, where St Francis of Assisi is the much-loved national patron saint. The nun belongs to the "Little Disciples of Jesus" convent in Campomoro near Rieti, which manages an old people's home and reports said she would keep the baby.

Nigerian Man Dupes 66-Year Old US Divorcee Over $500,000 On Christian Dating Site

A 66-year-old woman looking for love online ended up with a broken heart and bank account when she lost $500,000 to suitor on a Christian dating site. The San Jose divorcee met a Nigerian man on Chris tianMingle.com falsely claiming to be Irish citizen 'David Holmes', according to the Santa Clara District Attorney's Office.
Holmes said he worked on a Scottish oil rig, and his profile picture turned out to be a picture of a male model downloaded from the internet. The two never met in person, but talked over the phone and Holmes even sent the woman flowers.
Eventually he convinced her to loan him $300,000 for his oil business - funds she supplied from her retirement account. After wiring him an additional $200,000 to a bank in Turkey, the woman got suspicious and informed the DA's office.
Cherie Bourland of the elder fraud unit called the bank in Turkey and was successfully able to freeze the funds before Holmes' associate Wisdom Onokpite showed up to withdraw the money, according to CBS San Francisco.
Onokpite was arrested by the Turkish National Police on suspicion of committing fraud. The DA's office traced Holmes to Nigeria - a 'hot bed of online scams' - and he remains free.
While the woman was able to get her $200,000 back, Ms Bourland says there's just a '1 per cent' chance she'll recover the over $300,000 because 'it's just impossible to track down' and federal authorities won't investigate losses below $1million.
Ms Bourland says reports of lost money on dating sites has been on the rise, especially among the elderly since 'studies show the ability to make financial decisions is the first to be affected by aging.'
'You get the love drug in you and you end up getting duped,' she told the San Jose Mercury News.

He applauded the executive governor of Osun state for the immensely innovative Opon imo (tablet of knowledge) in Osun State which has improved the educational standard in the state and has received many international awards.
He highlighted the contribution of CWG PLC to Broadband penetration in Nigeria by working with the NUC (National Universities Commission) and the World Bank to connect 29 universities to the information super highway through the NgREN (Nigerian Research and Education Network) project.
The special guest, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, in his paper presentation titled "Deepening e-Governance, Transparency with Broadband Access", highlighted the impact of Information and Communication Technology in Osun State, and how the deployment of appropriate technology riding on affordable broadband infrastructure helped him to detect and correct the leakages in their Revenue and also improved the educational system. He noted that the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of his State moved from N300m (Three hundred million Naira) per month to N1.6b (One billion, six million Naira) per month without tax increment or increase in the number of tax payers. Also, the Osun State government under the leadership of Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has remarkably improved the educational system leveraging on the potentials of Information Communication Technology through the Opon Imo initiative.
Dr. Ernest Ndukwe (OFR) the chairman and chief host of the event who spearheaded the innovation of mobile telecommunication that most Nigerians enjoy today highlighted the efforts around making broadband available and affordable in the country. According to him, to achieve this, stakeholders and various governors of different States ought to be sensitized about making sure 'right of way' is provided for the operators without punitive taxation, as Broadband penetration will hugely impact economic growth to the benefit of all. He however, noted that some governors such as Lagos State's Raji Fashola are already working in that direction and thus availing their citizens of this technology of the future. He took the opportunity to invite the other governors to also come on board. "A good example is the recent drastic reduction on the cost of fiber links that pass through Lagos state", he pointed out.

A UAE-based Nigerian, Prince Eze Kingston Uzosike has raised the alarm over the high number of Nigerians testing positive to HIV in the country. Cos according to him, many people will die like ants in the next 10, 20 years if nothing is done.
The Nigerian immigrant while speaking to a Leadership correspondentwho visited Dubai recently also dropped a bombshell:
Many of these Nigerians being deported from abroad are HIV positive. Do you know how many people these people who are HIV positive may have infected since they got back home?Uzosike who has spent about four years in Diaspora said last December that about 187 blacks who had no immigration papers were caught and tested for HIV and about 93 tested positive.
Out of this number, 80 were Nigerians who were later deported home.
I know within my guts that these people some of whom are married will not tell their wives or even their girlfriends back home, their status. And you know how our girls run after guys who travel out of the country. So you can imagine. My view is that the disease will continue to spread."
Uzosike who got his papers last year, also narrated a story of a Nigerian who was deported home four months ago.
Nicknamed Chiefo, he was the first guy who started using the internet here and he recently got married in Nigeria leaving his wife behind. But in Dubai here, he has been philandering with so many girls here that when we heard he tested positive to HIV shortly before his deportation, many of us were not surprised. I am sorely afraid if he would tell his wife back home. At the end of the day, you see these girls working $20,000 for these men. You'll see them going from one club house to the other 'working'.In fact, says, Uzosika:
am convinced that about 20 million Nigerians are HIV positive. You hardly see a Nigerian man here not living with a South African lady and you know that South Africa has the highest HIV prevalence rate in the world. But I know that when our guys here know that HIV test is being enforced at home, they will sit up here. The way things are going, our younger generation has no future. Uganda President Yoweri Museveni Refuses To Approve Uganda's Anti-Gay Law

Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni has refused to approve a controversial bill to toughen punishments for homosexuals. The bill includes life imprisonment for homosexual acts and also makes it a crime not to report gay people.
Rather he has written to the parliamentary speaker criticising her for passing it in December without a quorum. Homosexuals were "abnormal" or were so for "mercenary reasons" and could be "rescued",
a local paper quotes his letter as saying.
According to The BBC'sCatherine Byaruhanga in the capital, Kampala, the president is aware that if he signs the bill there will be an international outcry, which could see some countries suspend aid to the country.
Mr Museveni is trying to reach a compromise with MPs, as if he refuses to sign the bill, parliament can still force it through with a two-thirds vote.

Chelsea Football Club completed the signing of Nemanja Matic from Benfica on Wednesday.

Man receives 20 lashes for being gay in Bauchi - BBC report

According to a report by the BBC,a 20 year old man in Bauchi received
20 lashes seven years after he stopped being gay. For real? My head
hurts from reading all these. Find the report below...
A Nigerian man has received 20 lashes after an Islamic court in the
northern city of Bauchi convicted him of homosexual offences.
Under Islamic law, courts can punish homosexual acts by stoning to death.
But the judge said he took into account that the Muslim man, Mubarak
Ibrahim, 20, carried out the acts seven years ago, and had stopped the
practice.
In Nigeria, homosexual acts are illegal under both Islamic and secular
law and restrictions have been tightened.
Earlier this month, President Goodluck Jonathan signed into law a bill
which bans same-sex marriages, gay groups and shows of same-sex public
affection.
The new legislation applies throughout Nigeria.
Most states in the predominantly Muslim north of Nigeria have adopted
Islamic law, known as Sharia, since the end of military rule in 1999.
Along with Mr Ibrahim, 11 other Muslims and a Christian man were
arrested last month accused by the authorities of being homosexuals.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of about $30 (£18).
Mr Ibrahim told the BBC he was relieved that Judge Nuhu Muhammad had
been lenient on him and had not sentenced him to death.
The BBC's Ishaq Khalid was in court when Mr Ibrahim was lashed with a
whip, made of animal skin smeared with oil.
Mr Ibrahim, who had pleaded guilty to the charge, was ordered to lie
on a bench, and an official whipped his back in front of a packed
courtroom, our correspondent says.
Mr Ibrahim screamed in pain while being lashed, but was able to walk
afterwards, he adds.
The trial of two other men was adjourned to 23 January.
The fate of the nine other men arrested on the same charge is unclear
but on Wednesday the Sharia Commission in Bauchi said the Christian
would be tried by a "conventional court", not an Islamic court.

She was escorted back to number 15 Ibitayo street where she had been caught inside the master bedroom with a bunch of master keys hidden in her brassiere. Funny enough the occupants of this house are not friends with the actress and have never met her before or share close friends with her but something strange may be the missing link. A day before their Nanny resigned from the job stating she could no longer do it...strange?probably a coincidence.The occupants of the flat had gone to church but the sister to the head of the family arrived home a little early to attend to her business…*now imagine this scenario* She put the key into the lock,opened the door,goes inside to find Yetunde who was startled and started stammering,she was asked what she was doing there and after mumbling some mumbo jumbo,she exited the flat and ran with her legs touching the back of her head……..there were cries of ''thief'' to attract others and after they caught her,she was beaten to a pulp,questioned and handed over to the Police after she implicated a lot of innocent people in her story....these people however arrived the venue to clear their names after agreeing that they know her. She disclosed that her friends, who got her into trouble, even behaved as if they were trying to help her out of the case, but that they were actually behind her being thrown into the police net and taken to court. Yetunde is currently being detained for attempted theft and possession of a bunch of master keys....probably the same one she was accused of stealing last year but acquitted because they found nothing on her. *I cannot say anything but that God should heal this young woman of this spirit of theft that she is wearing on her body like a second skin.....really sad and i am sorry about the embarrassment this will cause her family and friends.....but i am sure they sleep with one eye open,expecting news like this

Nollywood actor, Ramsey Noah in a new interview recalls the unforgettable, tormenting experiences of his life when he had no food to eat and how he had to sleep under the bridge. "Those were the times when things got really bad for my mother and I and we had nothing. It was so bad that we didn’t have a home or shelter to live in. We had to stay in a store, a small store that could take only one mat. My mother and I squeezed ourselves in that mat. We didn’t even have a cup to drink water not to talk of a stove to cook. And my mother had to borrow, beg and stuff like that. These were moments when I was young I didn’t realize the gravity of poverty we were in, I couldn’t tell. But it was a good orientation for me. It was moments that I thank God for making me past through, because that has sustained and helped me even as an actor. The ability to deliver all the roles they give me because I have tasted both sides of the coin." Ramsey said. Tell us about your growing up? My growing up was like tasting the two sides of a coin. When I said tasting the two sides of a coin; I mean tasting being a rich man and a poor man. I grew up with my mother, and with a silver spoon, I had it all. When I began to realize that I had good things to show off, everything disappeared. We started from grace to grass; that has helped me a lot because it totally balanced the equation of life. It gives me confidence in all spheres. For instance, I can hang out with the enlightened or the rich. I can mingle with them very easily without any complication or complex whatsoever. Also, if it is the low class or poor people, I can mingle very easily with them. I can eat a fantastic dinner in a huge, expensive restaurant and I can go eat amala at a buka and I would not feel anything. I don’t care being a popular actor or a role model. I am a role model to everybody. Are you saying that fame has not denied you anything in life? It has denied me a few, but it has not denied me being as natural as I want to be. I won’t let that happen. It has happened to some of my colleagues. Fame has taken them away from what they wanted to do or be. There was a time I went to a bank to pay my NEPA bill and I was wearing a short and T-shirt, because it was on Monday morning somebody came down and said ‘Ramsey Noah, you are a role model, you shouldn’t have been wearing this’. I didn’t take it likely with him. With all these experiences, what has life taught you? Life has taught me never to look down on anybody because the person you disregard might just be your saviour tomorrow. I realized that all my mother’s property was washed away by rain. We couldn’t sleep all through the night because of the flood. It was really terrible. Like I said, it is a life lesson. Is there anything that can make you cry or shed tears after all you passed through? Yeah, those moments; those terrible moments when we had nothing and we were living off people. People were just helping us out. There were times we didn’t have food to eat three or four days. You haven’t eaten and your stomach is rumbling but you don’t have any place to go. There was a time I lived on the street, in shops. There was a time I slept under the bridge. It was unfortunate that there were no records so that we can have memories we could play back now. In an interview with Saturday tribune , Mercy Johnson Okojie opens up about life before the fame, money and marriage. She talks about how she once lived in an uncompleted building and how she was inspired to start acting after watching one of Genevieve Nnaji's movies. Excerpt below... Sometimes when I cry in movies, it isn't the script that makes me cry. When I recall my humble beginning, I give thanks to God. When I remember how we moved into an uncompleted building and had to take cover whenever it rained because of the condition of the house; how my brother did a menial job as a bricklayer to earn a living and those days when we rolled over a stick to cover the windows up till the point when I started acting and raised money to cover the roof… I recall those days we were living with lizards because the floor and the walls of the house were not plastered, or when I had scars as a result of my several falls.” Continue... How she got into acting.. “After my secondary school education, I failed the University Matriculation Examination (UME) and came back to Lagos to get a degree. While that was on, I watched Genevieve Nnaji in a movie entitled: Sharon Stone. I later approached a friend for assistance to feature in a movie. He said I had a great body and that I would make a good actress. He later took me to the National Theatre, but a role did not come until a year later, when I had my first lead role in a film entitled: The Maid. The Maid was my starting point and it was quite challenging to play the lead role because it was my first movie. I was fidgeting when I saw the likes of Eucharia Anunobi, whom I regarded as a screen goddess during my secondary school days. I never thought I would make it with people like that. So, when I saw her, I was so excited and considered standing beside her as sacred. She actually realised that and later helped me by giving me the needed courage." What has marriage changed about you? Marriage has taught me lots of things and I’ve learnt a lot since I got married too. I know that if I had gotten married earlier, I wouldn’t have made most of the errors I made. It’s good to be married to somebody who is so organised; he brings you up the right way and reminds you of whom you’re supposed to be. You seem to be enjoying marriage a lot. You even once said that as soon as Purity (her daughter) clocks one, you would be going back to the labour room … My sister, marriage has been sweet for me because I have the best husband and daughter in the world. Graduate commits suicide over lady in lagos..state

According to a report by PM News, a graduate of Architecture, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ogunsona Daniel Adekunle Adebambo (pictured above) committed suicide by hanging himself in an uncompleted storey building yesterday January 1st 2014. According to the report, the body of the 30 year old man was found around 1 a.m. yesterday dangling from a rope tied to the hook of a fan in an uncompleted storey building at 1, Alice Ogunsona Street, Hilltop Estate, Eruwen, Ikorodu. His body was found by his younger brother after reading the suicide not he wrote and left at their home. Continue... The deceased allegedly killed himself because his girlfriend’s father refused to allow him marry his daughter. According to the story, the girlfriend's father, who is from Ondo state, said Bambo couldn't marry his daughter because he's from Ijebu, Ogun State. Some people do not believe that's the reason he killed himself. A resident of the Hilltop Estate who said he participated in bringing down Adebambo’s body from the ceiling, recalled that he was dead and stiff when they brought him down. "When the family raised an alarm and we came here, he was already foaming in his mouth and his hand was clenched in a fist. This signified that he struggled till he died,” he said.
