 These cannot be true,Some Abuja residents this morning stormed the Unity Fountain to protest the alleged plans by the Government to stop INEC from conducting the forthcoming 2015 general elections by asking the body to postpone it.

The protest which was organized by the civic group, National Consensus Movement and commenced from the Unity Fountain, saw protesters marching in the directions of Eagle Square, a premium event centre in the state, but as they filed past the Federal Secretariat, the protesters were blocked by officers of the Nigeria police, who asked them to go back. Not deterred by their presence, the protesters carrying different placards which reads; “Nigerians say no to postponement, we want election”.

“Democracy must survive.”

“Our vote of confidence to Jega. Give us elections. February 14.”

“Election must hold on 14th of February” and “GEJ, you claimed you have done 20,000km of roads, 

why are you afraid of elections?” went on chanting, “ Election must hold, Election must hold.”

President Jonathan held the Council of State meeting with some past presidents and current Governors to deliberate on the forthcoming general elections. According to reports, one of the issues to be deliberated upon is the possible postponement of the elections to give INEC more time to distribute the permanent voters card.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyin Pius Anyim; National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, Governors Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Babatunde Fashola (Lagos), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Aliyu Wamako (Sokoto), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abdulfatahi Ahmed (Kwara), Tanko Almakura (Nasarawa), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara) and the deputy governors of Borno and Yobe States.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is the only living Nigerian leader not present at the meeting.

Earlier today, Gov Amaechi who is the DG of the APC Presidential campaign had taken to his twitter handle to state that he would be opposing any motion to postpone the elections.

Woman stabs husband to death in Bayelsa

According to their friends, Henry Gagariga was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife Victoria Ambakaderimo (both pictured) around 11pm last night February 4th after a quarrel at their home in Akenfa, Bayelsa state. Victoria allegedly stabbed him in the throat.

Their friends say it's not the first time she'd stab him but this time, he lost his life. She is currently being held at Akenfa police station in Bayelsa state over his murder. At first glance one would think that the picture above is the result of a brilliant makeup artist from a horror movie set. But in reality however, Henry Damon, is a real man, who chose to undergo unbelievable, extreme body modification, after he was inspired by a comic book villain.

The Venezuelan man is currently making headlines around the world for taking body modification to the extreme in a bid to make himself look like comic book super villain Red Skull.
The 37 year old has had already had several subdermal implants on his forehead before having part of his nose removed in order to achieve the right Marvel madman look.

Pastor Adeboye Reacts To Alleged N6b Bribe Given To Pastors By The PDP

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has reacted to the allegations that pastors are collecting bribes from politicians and warned that they  risk the wrath of God.

Five Labourers Aged 36-40 Raped 14-Year Old Girl In Nasarawa...

These is just  too cruel,the officers of the Nasarawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps on Wednesday paraded five suspects for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl.

The state Commandant of NSCDC, Mr Andekin Musa, said the suspects, including a father of three, were labourers working at a construction site in Doma Local Government market.

Musa disclosed that the girl they raped hawks sachet water otherwise called ‘Pure Water’ in the same area.

He said four of the suspects had on Jan. 30, lured the girl into an uncompleted building beside the Doma market and took turns to rape her.

“The suspects raped her in an uncompleted building near the market. They lured her into the building saying they would buy her water but instead raped her,” Andekin said.

The commandant explained that the four suspects after their arrest implicated the fifth suspect who also confessed to raping the girl.

Musa said that officers of the command in Doma on a tip-off on Feb. 1 arrested two of the suspects near Tudun Laraba community in Doma.

He said the other three suspects were later arrested on the same day from the Doma market.

“The rape took place on Jan. 30, while their arrest was on Feb. 1. They are all around and they have all confessed to committing the offence.” he said.

Musa said the suspects, Wada Mohammed (37), Tanko Adamu (36), Abubakar Ogachi (40), Yusuf Ogar (35) and Samaila Ali (35) would be prosecuted after investigation had been concluded.

“From our investigation, the suspects have been in the habit of raping underage girls and we have been receiving reports of similar cases in that area,” he said.

One of the suspects, Samaila, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the devil pushed him to commit the crime as it was not in his habit to rape women.

“I have a wife and three children and I have never done this kind of thing before. It is the devil that pushed me to do it,” he said.

The father of the girl, Malam Umar Mohammed, thanked the NSCDC for promptly arresting the suspects and expressed optimism that justice would be done.

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Lecturer Caught In Female Hostel Disguised With A Veil

A lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria was apprehended Sunday night at a private female hostel in Samaru, Zaria.

Daily Trust gathered yesterday that the lecturer disguised by wearing Hijab (veil) and attempted to sneak into the hostel before he was intercepted.
A witness, Khalifa Sha’aibu, alleged that, that was not the first time the lecturer was entering the hostel to visit his girl friend.
Sha’aibu added: “The most annoying thing is the fact that the man used Hijab. As a Muslim, I feel sad that somebody would use something that women of faith are known with to perpetrate crime. I wonder why the man would not get a hotel room to perpetrate his immoral act. It was a vigilante member that noticed the structure of the man and exposed him. After he was caught, we discovered that he has been entering the hostel with the consent of the girl. The owner of the private hostel had barred men from entering the rooms.”
It was further gathered that the lecturer was handed over to a team of army personnel that are manning a check point close to the university.
Daily Trust also gathered that the officers ransacked the lecturer’s house.
When contacted, Director of Public Affairs in the university, Dr. Ismail Shehu, said he heard something like that but that no official report has been made.
He added that when an official report is received, the university will take action.
“As you know, ABU does not tolerate indiscipline. Investigation would be carried out and both the lecturer and student would be punished accordingly. There is no doubt about that,” he said.

A  young man has met his untimely death while stealing from a transformer in Fagba area of Lagos state Nigeria. The unidentified man from the North was electrocuted early this morning while attempting to removed feeder pillar units from an electric transformer at Lonlo Bus Stop along Iju Road in Fagba today. The victim, who was in a pair of jeans and black T–Shirt, had succeeded in removing one feeder unit, but luck ran out on him while he was trying to remove another one from the Mitchell 500KVA when electricity supply was suddenly restored. The corpse (pictured above) of the young man believed to be from the North was found by a teenager today on his way to fetch water in the area. A witness, Mr. Egunjobi Samuel, said that vandals had been tampering with their transformer for a long time, adding that luck ran out on the victim because God wanted to expose one of them today. "We have been experiencing this thing for a long time. Some people will just come and remove some parts from this transformer. God decided to expose one of them today. It serves him right,''Samuel said. Everyday for the thief, one day for the owner.

See excerpts What aspect of your childhood prepared you for this career; were you an entertainer or this famous person who had a feeling that one day, I am going to be a superstar? I had this feeling that one day I am going to be in the entertainment industry, because I loved to entertain people like I do in my house. I dance, put on high heels, I loved fashion and then my mother used to say in an Igbo way that I was a fashion freak as a kid. So, definitely, they knew I was going to be in the entertainment industry, but didn't know where because I danced, sang, and dramatised. I was just a happy child. What inspired your going into movie production? 'Miss Teacher' is an advocate movie, which as you all know, I have a Foundation I run. It is called "Chika Ike's Foundation", which is focused on children in the streets. So, I wanted them to see through this movie the plight of children in the streets. To also see from their own perspective what they go through on a daily basis. It is an advocate about the African child in the streets. That was really what motivated me, and also to use my foundation to tell their story from their own point of view. Aside acting, who is Chika Ike? I will speak in the third person. Chika Ike is focused, calculative, not very patient, but working on that. She is very determined and could be the girl next door, the neighbour you do not want to have if offended. What has brought you close to tears in your life, or has life been so smooth for you? Life has not been smooth; many things have brought me to tears. All secondary schools across  Nigeria has now been directed by the federal government to resume back to classes  by  September 22nd ,both the  primary and secondary schools are to resume on Monday September 22nd. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome debunk adultery accusations, threatens to sue journalists

Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, who is currently in divorce court with his estranged wife Anita Oyakhilome has denied adultery accusations and has threatened to sue journalists who publish stories about himself and his wife. In a statement released via his lawyer Mr. Kemi Pinheiro (SAN) a few hours ago, Pastor Oyakhilome said the accusations of adultery against him is 'false and malicious'.

"The attention of our client, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, and the church has been drawn to the wave of false, malicious and fabricated stories being published in the print and electronic media about his person, the church and a matrimonial cause between him and his wife," his attorney stated. Oyakhilome's counsel further said the media's coverage was engineered to bring him and the church shame and ridicule, though his wife was the person who aired the allegations against him. Earlier today, Wednesday, Mrs. Oyakhilome even told Premium Times, through counsel, that the marriage had "terribly degenerated".

The statement also acknowledged freedom of the press, but quite contradictorily cautioned that further action will be taken to safeguard the image of the church and the pastor if coverage continued. "Be warned therefore that unless the concerned media houses desist from further publishing words and stories which are false and damaging of our client’s reputation and the church, we shall, without further recourse to the concerned publishers, promptly embark on appropriate legal machinery with a view to protecting our client’s reputation and that of the church."

Groom Dumps Bride At Registry, escaped With Her Money

Uzor Emmanuel, a 45-year old married man with three kids played a fast one on a 42-year old lady, Victoria Adeleye at the Ikoyi Marriage Registry Lagos state, Southwest Nigeria.

Emmanuel who had proposed to marry Adeleye at the registry dumped her at the court premises and disappeared with her N4 million. The wedding was subsequently called-off following Emmanuel’s disappearance.

Friends of the couple, who attended the wedding ceremony were left shell-shocked as marriage officials cancelled the wedding.

A source told our correspondent that the relationship between, Adeleye and Emmanuel blossomed after they met at a church in Isolo.

Unknown to Adelye, Emmanuel was married with three kids. He told her that he was still single and needed to marry since he was growing old.

Adeleye who was also eager to get a husband, showed interest and became an intimate friend with Emmanuel.

Shortly after courtship, Emmanuel proposed to marry her and she accepted. He reportedly moved into Adeleye’s flat at Bola Adeyinwa street Aswani, Isolo where they started living together as a couple without the knowledge of their pastor and members of the church.

To cover their tracks before the church, Emmanuel suggested to Adeleye they need to go to court to consummate the relationship legally.

Adeleye agreed and brought out some money with which they used to facilitate the marriage but on the day they were supposed to tie the knot, Emmanuel carried out the last of his plans.

The duo had arrived the registry with close friends but while they were waiting for court officials to commence the ceremony, Emmanuel excused himself and went outside the registry. From there he fled with her money and did not return to the hall.

The suspect was later arrested following a tip off. He then confessed that he had a wife with kids and he was only interested in Adeleye’s money.

He was charged before Isolo Magistrate’s court for obtaining under false pretence and stealing under the Criminal Code.

When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs F.M. Kayode granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He is remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri, Lagos pending when he will fulfill his bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 2 October 2014 for trial.

Police sources said his wife refused to show up to facilitate his bail, saying what he did to the woman was bad.

40 apartments at Police barracks in Lagos Razed down by fire

About  40 apartments has been razed by fire ,at the Ijeh Police Barracks in Obalende Lagos state PM News reports. The cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be determined

This is the same barracks that a police officer died on Friday August 29th after he was pushed down a building by his wife during a fight. The officer died before getting to the hospital while his widow is still in the intensive care.
