Woman on a mission , Confesses: ''I Come To Lagos To Buy Stolen Babies''
Detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos, western Nigeria have intensified efforts to recover all the stolen babies allegedly bought by an Onitsha-based human trafficker who was arrested in Lagos last Monday for purchasing a stolen two-year old baby.
This followed the confessional statement made by the trafficker, Mrs. Grace Onye, 52. Onye told the police that she specialises in the illegal business of buying babies in Lagos for sale to those who required them.
In her confession, she admitted that it was not her first time of coming to Lagos to buy babies, adding that she had been coming to Lagos to buy babies in the past three years. She told the police that she sold all the babies to those in need, especially barren women.
She was arrested along with her customer, 45-year old Mrs. Ngozi Ikeh who is barren and needed a child. They were arrested at Ikotun in the morning while going back to Ontisha with a stolen baby sold to them for N300,000 by their contact man who is now at large.
The suspects confessed that they had a contact man simply identified as Samuel who usually lodged them at Francis Inn Hotel located at Abiola Adeyemi Street, Igando Road, Ikotun whenever they are in Lagos to buy babies. Grace confessed further that it was in that hotel that Samuel brought the baby and collected N300,000.
Joy Olowolade, the two-year old stolen baby was allegedly kidnapped at 6, Oladunjoye Street, off Igando Road, Ikotun Lagos. Samuel abducted the baby at the stated address in a dramatic form around 4 p.m. on Monday when he threw a banger in the compound where Joy was playing with other kids.
The sound of the banger caused confusion in the compound and the children ran away in different directions. When the dust settled, Joy was nowhere to be found.
Her elder sister, Eniola Olowolade, after a frantic search for her, alerted her parents, Ayodele and Funke Olowolade, of her disappearance. Funke explained that one of her neighbours confirmed that she saw the man who snatched the baby during the confusion that greeted the explosion of the banger.
Olowolade and neighbours later arranged themselves in groups to look for the missing baby. They searched for Joy in every house and street in the neighbourhoods but could not find her.
Narrating her experience, Funke stated: “It all happened like a dream, Joy told me she was hungry and I was preparing her food when she went out to play with her friends in the compound.
Within the twinkling of an eye Eniola rushed in to tell us that somebody threw a banger in the compound and everybody ran away. She said she didn’t see Joy when the commotion died down.
We searched all the nooks and crannies till midnight. She was nowhere to be found,” Funke said.
At about 4 a.m. the following day, the Olowolades and their neighours moved round the streets again looking for Joy. They saw a woman walking briskly and carrying a baby on her back with her friend. Somebody shouted the name of the missing baby and Joy answered ‘ma.’
Immediately the baby answered, the trafficker and her friend ran. They tried to drop the baby but they were caught by the rescuers. They were beaten and later handed over to the police at Ikotun division who transferred them to the SCID for further investigation.

how to make big money on nairabet
I want you to imagine this.
You tell your friends about NairaBET and you get paid.Wouldn't that be
great? I mean, you have probably told one or two people but you did
not get rewarded,That is over.Nairabet now pay you for spreading the
word...
Nairabet will be paying you 30% of the money NairaBET makes from the
person you refer and they will pay you for 3 months.
Let me explain better.
You tell a friend about NairaBET and he signs up. Let us assume that
he brings in 10,000 and he loses it all in 3 months, nairabet will pay
you N3,000
If he loses only 1,000 it means you will get 300 and so on.
So as long as NairaBET makes money, you will be getting
paid.Interested? This is what you should do.
Log into your NairaBET account, clik on affiliate center at the top
right hand side of the page where you have your balance.
Clik on Affiliate Link. That is the link through which you will be
registering others.
What I mean is that if you register them through
nairabet.com directly, nairabet will not be able to know who register
with them so they wont pay you. That link is yours only.Only you have
it so when they register through you,you get paid.
Start telling your friends about it.
Also, copy your link,go to related forums, blogs and start
promoting.Write articles and use your links in it.....For those that
doesn't know about Nairabet,NAIRABET is all about predicting the
outcome of sports events. You don't have to predict the exact scoreline
if you don't want to.
Let me use football as an example.
If Manchester United is playing Wigan Athletic at home, you can stake
your money that Manchester United will win. If you are correct, you
will win your bet.The amount you will win will depend on the odds on
that particlular match.
Using the Manchester United and Wigan example I gave above,a bookmaker
can say his price/odds for the match is 1.2. This means that whatever
you bet with will be multiplied by 1.2
Is it making sense now?
Predict that Wigan will beat Manchester United, the odds could
be 14.2. That means that whatever you bet with will be multiplied by
14.2 Still using the Manchester United and Wigan example...
So if you want to bet on it, what would you do? Manchester United to
win at 1.2? If you put 1,000 on that, you will get just 1,200 in
return. That is just 200 gain. Or will you back
Wigan to win at 14.2? You only need to put in 1,000 to win 14,200. But
will Wigan beat Manchester United?
If 1.2 sounds small to you, there is something you can do to
increase your potential returns. It's called accumulators. Let me
explain what that is.
Let us assume that this weekend, these are the matches that will be played.
Man Utd V Wigan
Chelsea V West Brom
Arsenal V Sunderland
If the odds for Man Utd to win is 1.2 and Chelsea to win is also
1.2 and Arsenal to win is 1.4. What you can do is to combine
these matches and say they Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal will win
so you returns will be 1.2 multiplied by 1.2 multiplied by 1.4.
1.2 times 1.2 times 1.4 = 2.016
So if you put 1,000 your returns will be 1,000 times 2.016
which gives us 2,016. That has increased your returns. The only
problem is that with accumulators, once one of your picks go
wrong,everything goes wrong.

Kidnappers abduct Ex-Super Eagles Player’s father, Demand N50m!
Chikelue Iloenyosi, in Njikoka Local Government, Anambra State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim, James Iloenyosi, was on his way back from the church on Monday when he was abducted by the assailants.
A family source said the kidnappers blocked Chikelue father's car and then put him into another car before speeding off.
He said, "On Monday, Pa Iloenyosi (James) was driving home from morning Mass when some men in a Toyota Camry blocked his Peugeot 504 and pulled him out of his vehicle. They subsequently put him inside their own vehicle and sped off.
"After organising a search party without success, we called his son on the telephone to inform him of the development.
"The following day, the kidnappers called us with the victim's telephone and demanded N50m ransom. Family members have been trying to negotiate with them but they have refused to collect anything less."
When our correspondent contacted Chikelue on the telephone, he confirmed the development.
He said, "I received a telephone call from the village that my father had been kidnapped. Later we were able to recover his vehicle, but my father's telephone was switched off for the rest of the day. It was the following day that the kidnappers called with their demand."
He said the family was still meeting to plan the next cause of action, while negotiation was ongoing with the kidnappers.
The former Nigerian defender said the incident was more painful as his father's twin brother had only recently died.
"We have been begging these kidnappers but they have been threatening to kill my father if we did not pay. That money is just too much," he said.

Photos- Sharia Police Smash 240,000 Bottles Of Beer In Kano
In their latest move to put a stop to behaviour deemed 'immoral', the Police enforcing Islamic law in Kano state on Wednesday, destroyed 240,000 bottles of beer they had confiscated from trucks coming into the city.
According to AFP, the Sharia law enforcers called Hisbah, launched sweeping crackdowns in Kano since September, following a state government directive to cleanse the commercial state of "immoral" practices.
So, on Wednesday, a large bulldozer smashed the confiscated bottles to shouts of "Allahu Ahkbar" (God is great) from supporters outside the Hisbah headquarters in Kano.
Kegs containing more than 8,000 litres of a local alcoholic brew called burukutu and 320,000 cigarettes were also destroyed.
Kano's Hisbah chief, Aminu Daurawa, at the bottle-breaking ceremony, said he had the ardent hope this will bring an end to the consumption of such prohibited substances. We hope this measure will help restore the tarnished image of Kano," said Daurawa.
The 9,000-strong moral police force works alongside the civilian police but also has other duties, including community development work and dispute resolution.
Alcohol is typically easy to find in Kano, including at hotels and bars in neighbourhoods like Sabon Gari, inhabited by the city's sizeable Christian minority. But the Hisbah boss vowed that this was set to change.
"We hereby send warning to unrepentant offenders that Hisbah personnel will soon embark on an operation into every nook and cranny of the state to put an end to the sale and consumption of alcohol and all other intoxicants," Daurawa said.

Comedian Julius Agwu Sues Etisalat For N100m Over Blocked Line
Comedian Julius Agwu has dragged telecoms giant Etisalat to court for blocking his business line. He is demanding for N100million as compensation forjobs lost, contact lost, for the inconveniences, and for being mistreated by Etisalat staff. Below is a statement from his lawyer, Festus Keyamo...
We are solicitors to Mr. Julius Agwu, one of Nigeria's most sought after entertainers (hereinafter referred to as "our client") and on whose behalf we write.
Our client is the owner of the Etisalat GSM phone number 08189555555, which he uses as his business line. On the 8th of October, 2013, our client travelled out of the country and returned on the 17th of the same month. Upon his return, he tried severally to make calls from the aforestated GSM line but same could not connect. Not only could he not make calls, he also could not receive calls on the said GSM line. This continued for some days until he got a message that his line had been blocked by the network provider.
Sequel to the above message, our client promptly visited your Abuja office at Hilton to report the matter. He was attended to by one Miss Joan, who informed him that somebody swapped his line. After our client successfully answered the security questions put to him, he was informed that his line had been restored, but the credit balance on the line was not returned.
Surprisingly, our client's aforestated line was blocked again after he left your said Abuja office. Once again our client visited your office at the local wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja, Lagos to lodge a complaint, but painfully, nothing was done about it.
However, after sometime, our client was invited for a meeting at your head office in Lagos on the 14th of November, 2013 which he duly honoured. Present at the meeting (in addition to the officials of your organization) was Mr. Mobolaji Okusaga, the Managing Director of The Quadrant Company, in his capacity as media agents/managers for Etisalat Nigeria.
At the end of the meeting, our client was told for the umpteenth time that they would get back to him, which they again failed to do.
LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
It cannot be over emphasized that your actions of unlawfully blocking and/or swapping our client's line occasioned loss of business opportunities to him. As you are aware, our client as one of the most sought after Nigerian entertainers needs his phone line to be easily accessible to keep his business going. It therefore goes without saying that our client has lost some business opportunities as a result of your actions.
TAKE NOTICE that we have our client's firm instruction to demand and hereby demand the sum of N100,000,000.00 (One Hundred Million Naira) as compensation for the loss of business opportunities and the inconvenience caused our client by reason of your unlawful and unjustified blocking and/or swapping of our client's Etisalat GSM phone line.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that in the event that you fail, refuse or neglect to accede to our above stated demand within seven (7) days from the receipt of this letter, we shall be compelled to set in motion against you, all legal machineries necessary to obtain legal remedy for our client.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
FESTUS KEYAMO, ESQ.

STRIKE LATEST: ASUU Accuses Some UNILAG Lecturers Of ‘Illegal Activities’
The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Lagos (UNILAG) Chapter, Mr. Oghenekaro Ogbinaka, urged the union's members to desist from working against its interest.
Mr. Ogbinaka made the appeal in a statement in Lagos on November 26, 2013, Tuesday.
He said that the members should not allow their selfish interests to overshadow the interest of the union.
He alleged that some members of the chapter called an illegal congress recently but failed in their bid to carry out 'illegal activities'.
"Congress anticipated their plot that was borne out of greed.
"No member of the University of Lagos Branch of the ASUU is, therefore, taken aback on their action," Mr. Ogbinaka said.
He described such action as misguided, and urged union members to desist from such. The Chairman further gave the assurance that the chapter would remain indivisible.

Photos-Pandemonium As Mysterious Goat Delivers Human-Like Creature In Ekiti
#mio le salo ooo# A mystery was recorded in the rural community of Olori Oko near Ogotun Ekiti in Ekiti South-West Local Government of Ekiti State as a goat allegedly gave birth to a strange creature. Olori- Oko, a farm stead dominated by people of Ede and Modakeke in Osun State is about six kilometres to Ogotun Ekiti and three kilometres away from Ikeji Arakeji in Osun State, with about 500 residents, witnessed a huge, bewildered crowd that stormed the serene community from the neighboring towns and villages to catch a glimpse at the strange birth. According to an eye witness, who is also a member of the community, Mr. Ganiyu Adetokun, the strange goat delivered the kid at about 6a.m., yesterday, after a long and protracted labour which lasting for about 10 hours. According to him, a Pastor, Daniel Odedele, resident in the community had to intervene by forcing the baby out of the goat's genital when it was apparent that it could not deliver it unaided. His words: "Strangely, the kid had human hairs on its head and female genital similar to that of human being.
Then people started raising alarm." The kid was said to have survived for about one and a half hours before it died - owing to lack of care and disturbance from the people, who scrambled to take its picture. According to him, the incident have been formally reported to the Ologotun of Ogotun Ekiti , Oba Samuel Oyebade, adding that the residents would take a step further by making necessary sacrifice and appeasements to gods of the land to forestall calamity from befalling them.

Golden Eaglets Star, Kelechi Iheanacho Set To Join Man City
Wonderkid Kelechi Iheanacho will sign a deal with Manchester City, according to the player's father.
Iheanacho was named the best player at November's Under-17s World Cup after scoring six goals, including one in the final, as the Golden Eaglets triumphed in the United Arab Emirates.
He has since been linked with moves to Porto and Chelsea but his father, James, said that the Etihad Stadium will be his boys' next destination.
"As I am talking to you, I have chosen that Kelechi is going to Manchester United," he told Super Sport's 'Monday Night Football', before appearing to correct himself by saying: "I have told you that he is going to Manchester City."
Iheanacho senior later said that the player's family made a joint decision on where he would go in a meeting on Monday night. "We prayed [on Monday] and, after due consultations with family members, we came up with Manchester City, believing he has a future there," he explained. "That is where he will be uplifted."
The young striker had been declared missing by his father on Friday after he had left his home in Owerri without alerting his family but returned early on Monday morning before a decision on his future was made.
James has been integral in his son's fledgling career, with rumours that he had valued the starlet at €1 million (£840,000), though he denied those claims, declaring: "No, those people are my enemies. I never said that."

ASUU STRIKE UPDATE: Pro-chancellors Order Universities Open Nationwide
The Committee of Pro-chancellors of Nigerian Federal Universities, on Tuesday, unanimously ordered immediate re-opening of universities across the country.
The communiqué signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Professor Kimse Okoko, was made available to newsmen late Tuesday in Abuja.
The communiqué was issued at the end of the committee meeting to discuss the protracted strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other issues affecting the Nigerian university system.
The communiqué stated that the decision to re-open the universities was unanimously agreed by all pro-chancellors in the overall interest of all concerned.
The pro-chancellors, in the communique, directed all vice chancellors to comply with the committee decision.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the decision of the pro-chancellors was predicated on the earlier referendum held by various chapters of ASUU that voted 60-40 in favour of suspension of the over four months old strike.
They expressed dismay that all efforts to resolve the crisis, including the intervention of President Goodluck Jonathan, has failed.
The communiqué recognised "all effort by Federal Government to address the major issues involved in the strike action including the bold and the supportive intervention by Mr President."
It also stated that the committee noted "with satisfaction the outcome of the referendum conducted in all branches of ASUU nationwide which voted 60-40 in favour of the suspension of the ongoing strike by ASUU."
The pro-chancellors called for the understanding of ASUU and indeed all staff of the various universities in Nigeria.
This order is coming on the heels of polarisation that has already crept into the ASUU, following the meeting they had with President Goodluck Jonathan penultimate week.
Nigerians were amazed that the emergency National Executive Council meeting, held in Kaduna last weekend, came out with fresh conditions for suspension of strike after it was rumoured that a deal was struck with President Jonathan.
ASUU has been on strike since July 1 and the NEC meeting was to deliberate on the resolutions of various chapters of ASUU on whether the strike should be suspended or not based on the offers by the government.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the pro-chancellors were aggrieved that even when majority of the members of ASUU want the strike called off, few elements in the union have refused to yield to the popular desire of the members.
Meanwhile, the crisis rocking the University of Lagos (UNILAG) chapter of ASUU, over its continued participation in the ongoing strike action by the union's national body, worsened on Tuesday as the two factions in the crisis openly traded insults.
The congress, called on Monday, saw a sharp division in the chapter with a faction favouring a pull-out from the strike action, giving a week ultimatum to open the institution.
The faction also promised undisclosed further actions if the ultimatum was not met, after it held a separate congress following the disruption of the earlier one.

Zimbabwe govt. Bans Nigerians From Trading in Their Country
According to Reports From IntegrityReporters!
Zimbabwe authorities has said that they have given foreign shop-owners, mostly Nigerian nationals, an ultimatum to shut down their businesses by Jan. 1, 2014.
A top official of the black empowerment ministry said only Zimbabweans had the right to run shops that have sprung up across the country and are termed foreign businesses targeted under the nation's black empowerment laws, the state-controlled Herald newspaper reported Friday. Those laws, passed in 2007, demand foreign businesses to cede 51 percent control to local blacks. The foreign shop owners have been criticized for taking retail trade opportunities from Zimbabwean traders by selling cheap imports.
Poor townships and city flea markets have in recent years been inundated by shops run by foreigners.

Why I Warned Blogs Not To Upload My Songs- 9ice
Recently, 9ice has gradually been making efforts to get back into the minds of some lovers of good music in Nigeria. Even though his recent music career has not matched that of his 'Gongo Aso' days when he stole the shows and headlined big gigs across the world, some critics have given a clean bill of health to bounce back.
Few years ago, he even got the rare privilege to perform for one of Africa's greatest legends, Nelson Mandela during his birthday. It was a great feat achieved by the estranged husband of Toni Payne.
The artiste has reportedly been struggling like a new born baby to gain his feet back in the industry he once ruled.
However, 9ice, some hours ago, warned website and blogs owners to stop uploading his songs on their platforms without his consent.
He took to twitter to give out this warning. "please stop uploading my songs on your websites without my permission. Good intention wrong execution. Pls honour this," 9ice wrote.
However, speaking with Nigeriafilms.com in a phone chat, the singer's management, DicotyleDon Entertainment, explained to us the reason behind the decision.
He said that Spinlet has got the exclusive right to upload the song for now, based on an agreement the music streaming site had with 9ice. He further disclosed that the right was only for few weeks

Gunmen Attack Aviation Minister Stella Oduah!
Last Friday in Abuja, gunmen reportedly attacked and fired at a car belonging to the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Altine Daniel, speaking for the police, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident occurred at about 10pm on Friday, but was only reported to the police on Monday.
Confirming the incident, the minister's spokesperson, Joe Obi claimed that the shooting took place atMinisters' Hill in Maitama area of the Federal capital territory, Abuja.
It was not clear if the vehicle was the Minister's private car, or an official one, but Ms. Daniel said Ms. Oduah was fortunately not in the vehicle when the incident took place.
According to the police spokesperson, some strange metal objects, which do not look like the conventional bullet, were discovered in the vehicle, and they will be subjected to ballistics examination.
Mrs. Oduah recently stepped into hot water when news broke she authorized the purchase with official funds of two bullet proof cars by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority for her use.
Returning from the United Kingdom on Sunday, President Goodluck Jonathan confirmed that he had received the report of a three-man committee he set up to probe the role of the Minister in it.
Nigerians are calling for the Minister to be prosecuted, but Mr. Jonathan did not say if any action would be taken.
One analyst contacted by SaharaReporters said Friday's 'attack' might have been something stage-managed to attract some sympathy to the Minister.

Unbelievable Video: Woman Gives Birth To A Snake Life On Camera In Church
It sure sounds unbelievable, but a young woman has been delivered of a snake. The woman delivered the scary reptile in the church.
The snake, said to have been programmed into the woman's womb since her secondary school days.
She was said to have delivered the snake like a woman under labour following prayers by the priest that everything that was not of God in her should come out of her body. The incident attracted a large crowd.
Witness said the snake forced itself out of the woman's private part with the intention of attacking the pastor. The pastor's younger brother, however, was able to kill the animal.
The pastor said the woman came to the church on wednesday for prayers following the pains she had been experiencing all over her body since she was in secondary school. According to him, it was at this juncture that one of the prayer warriors in the church conducted the prayers that forced the snake out of her body.
"As I was praying and calling on whatever was inside the lady to come out, the lady was writhing in pains. The snake even wanted to attack me until my brother here killed it with the stick," pastor said!
He said such miracles happen very often in the church. "But we don't advertise it and we don't use any fetish things here. We only engage in prayers," he said.

Stephen Keshi To Recall Peter Odemwingie, Taiye Taiwo And Ikechukwu Uche
Culled From SuperSport
Nigeria head coach, Stephen Keshi has revealed that players like Peter Odemwingie, Taye Taiwo and Ikechukwu Uche could be handed shock recalls to the national team ahead of the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
Keshi stunned many by leaving out experienced talent from his 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and received a backlash from many who felt he was treading on thin ice.
He was eventually justified in his selections as Nigerian romped to a third Afcon success with a relatively inexperienced squad.
The "Big Boss" as Keshi is fondly called has now revealed that he has not shut the door completely on any individual as he begins preparations for the World Cup.
"Contrary to what some people think, I have not shut the door on players like Osaze (Peter Odemwingie), Ike Uche and even Taiye Taiwo. They are Nigerians and are eligible to play for the Super Eagles at all times," Keshi exclusively told supersport.com.
The gaffer however stated that they will only get a look in if they "prove themselves."
"When I was in the national team, nobody had an automatic shirt. I was the captain but I did not play in all the games.
"Everyday in training, it was war. We fought and sweated to show the coaches that we were worthy of the shirt. That is the norm now as well," he said.
Otigba, Ameobi and uncapped talent
Keshi is casting his net far afield and will not mind blooding several uncapped players as he looks to build a squad that will punch above their weight in Brazil.
Names like Kenneth "Kenny" Otigba and Sammy Ameobi readily prop up following their scintillating displays for Heerenveen and Newcastle United respectively.
Keshi however insists players of such ilk will only be allowed to sneak in if they prove they are better than the ones currently in the squad.
"To be honest, I don't know much about Otigba but we have a good scouting network that will enable me look at all players eligible to play for Nigeria.
"Everyone who is eligible to play for Nigeria has a chance and I am being totally honest here.
"I will assess their performances at their different clubs and we will take a decision but if these players are not better than those that I already have in the team, then they don't have any chance.
"However, if they show that they are better and can make the team stronger, why not?
"It does not matter if they have played for the Super Eagles previously or not.
"I recall that before the 1994 Fifa World Cup, players like Michael Emenalo and Chidi Nwanu did not kick a ball in (the qualifying tournament.)
"They also did not play at the Nations Cup earlier that year but when they showed the coaches what they could do, they came in.
"I have not selected my team for the World Cup. No one has a guaranteed shirt and we will keep working until we know the 23 players that will go to Brazil," he said.
Keshi who won 64 caps and scored nine goals for Nigeria as a player, replaced Samson Siasia as Super Eagles coach in 2011 and has yet to lose a competitive game to African opposition.

ASUU Gives President Jonathan Final Condition To End Strike
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has indicated their readiness to end the prolonged strike that has crippled academic activities in all government owned universities across Nigeria for about 5 months. But this will only happen if the government of President Goodluck Jonathan meet the demands below…
First is to pay the four months salaries owed its members by the government during the period of the strike.
The union also wants the immediate implementation of the N1.2tn offer by the Government to public universities, starting with the release of N100bn this year. The balance of N1.1tn is to be spread over five years from 2014.
These were some of the resolutions reached by members of the National Executive Council of the union that met in Kano on Friday to deliberate on what must be done by government before the strike is called off.
"The issue now is on trust and we do not want a situation where promises will not be kept. The authorities have failed us in the past and we do not want a repeat of that.
"That was why we decided at the NEC meeting that the government should pay us the arrears of salaries being owed us since we started the strike on July 1, 2013, before the strike can be called off. The salaries should not be paid piecemeal," said a top source in ASUU.
The ball is now in the court of the government. Will the FG pay ASUU for the months they did not work?
