Bobbi Kristina Brown isn’t letting her family’s drama get in the way of her happiness. Whitney Houston’s daughter is said to be engaged to her “adopted brother” Nick Gordon, Us Weekly reports. Brown, 19, was recently photographed in Atlanta holding hands and kissing Gordon, the 22-year-old man whom Houston took in 10 years ago after his mother was unable to care for him. According to the magazine, Brown has been wearing a sizeable diamond engagement ring that was once worn by her mother. “The situation is beyond sad,” a source told Us. “Whitney never formally adopted Nick, but he lived with her and Bobbi Kristina from the age of 12 and they were raised like brother and sister. Mentally Ill Girl Gives Birth At Kaduna Bus Stop

At about 9.am yesterday, a mentally ill girl delivered a baby at the popular new barrack bus stop near the Federal Secretariat, Kaduna. The incident brings to three the number of times mentally ill women have delivered babies at that same bus stop in recent times. The bus stop is just a stone throw from the Kawo police station and the Hassan Usman Katsina, Kaduna State House. It was gathered that the girl, who has been in that area for almost a year delivered her baby around 9.am unaided, and that it was the cry of the baby that attracted passersby. It was further gathered that shortly after she delivered, women passing by rushed to her, and used their wrappers and head-ties to cover her. The women barred men who were passing by from getting close. An elderly woman, who works with a Federal Government’s agency at the secretariat, Lami Bulus, confirmed that was the third time a mentally ill woman was delivering at the bus stop. “This has become something else because this is the third time this type of thing is happening here. To our surprise, she delivered safely though she wanted to kill the baby afterwards. The men impregnating these women are doing it in order to get worldly things. May God expose them because it is unfortunate,” she said. A trader in the area, urged the Kaduna State government to extend to the girl the same gesture it extended to a mentally ill woman who delivered sometime ago. “When Bola, a mentally ill girl delivered here sometime ago, she was taken to a psychiatric hospital, and her baby was taken to the social welfare department. Bola has since recovered, and has returned to Kabba in Kogi State, her state of origin,” the trader said. She urged the state government to device means of apprehending the men who are impregnating the women. The owner of a restaurant close to the area, Madam Lizy, said the girl was always at the bus stop. “She is always at the bus stop. She comes to me for food daily, but I suspect that whoever impregnated her did it at night. This is because I have sighted men around the bus stop at night many times,” she said. The woman also coordinated the collection of donations for the girl. A vulganizer close to the bus stop, Jamilu Ajibola, said he has been seeing the girl at the bus stop for sometime, adding, “she walks around the area, and doesn’t fight people. The baby is normal, there is no abnormality, mother and baby are doing very well. We intend to call the social welfare to tell them what really happened so that they can take over the management of the baby and the mother.

Ramsey Nouah Fatally Injured On Set In Ghana

Nigerian super actor Ramsey Nouah sustained severe injuries and missed death by the whiskers during the shooting of a new movie in Ghana. According to reports, the actor crash-landed on a concrete floor when he fell from a building whilst trying a stunt on a movie set in Kumasi. Though official medical reports are not yet available, it is feared the actor might have suffered internal bleeding as he reportedly complained of acute waist pains while medics attended to his blood-filled mouth He was on the set with top actors Nana Ama McBrown, Beverly Afaglo, Roslyn Ngissah, Nana Hayford and a number of accomplished actors shooting a movie titled ‘Hotel Babylon: Where Clothes Are unclad’, directed by Kobi Rana, when the incident occurred. The movie was extensively shot in Kumasi at the Senator Hotel at Tanoso. The accident attracted crew members and director Kobi Rana, who immediately rushed to his side for fear of the unexpected. Information indicated that Ramsey could not immediately get up on his feet as he remained on the floor for some minutes. The set had to break to allow him to recover, but after 30 minutes, he told the director he could continue with the shooting. A South African court this morning convicted the leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Henry Okah, of masterminding twin car bombings during Nigeria's 50th independence celebrations in October 2010 that killed twelve people and injured several others. He was also found guilty of masterminding the two explosions in Warri in March 2010. Henry Okah was found guilty on all counts and faces a minimum sentence of life in prison.

Mother And 7 Children Jailed After Converting Back To Christianity From Islam

A mother and her seven children have been jailed for 15 years for converting back to Christianity from Islam in Egypt. Nadia Mohamed Ali was raised a Christian but converted to Islam 23 years ago when she married Mohamed Abdel-Wahhab Mustafa. Following his death, she planned to convert back to her original faith, along with the rest of her family. But a criminal court in Beni Suef, in central Egypt, sentenced them to jail for 15 years last week, according to reports. Seven other people, who were involved in the case, were also sentenced to five years in jail. Human rights advocates have now warned the sentence is a sign of things to come in Egypt under the Islamist government. The conversion came to light after the family attempted to get new identity cards in 2004, when one of her children was arrested two years later and confessed the documents had been changed illegally when police noticed he had changed his name and became suspicious. Nadia, her children and the clerks who processed the identity cards were subsequently arrested and charged. Christians in the country have said they face difficulties if they have converted to Islam and wish to switch back, leading some to forge the documents, which could land them in jail. Samuel Tadros, a research fellow at Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom, has said while similar conversions had been common, the new Sharia-based constitution in Egypt was “a real disaster” for religious freedom. He said: “The cases will increase in the future. It will be much harder for people to return to Christianity.”The constitution was pushed through last year by President Mohamed Morsi, who succeeded Hosni Mubarak following an election last June. Secular and liberal groups, as well as Coptic Christians, opposed the constitution and protested against it at the time it was passed. Donna Lange, a 51-year-old woman from Everett, Washington, is believed to have suffocated her boyfriend to death with her breasts on Saturday, Jan. 12. Deputies, called to the Airport Inn trailer park at 12:45 a.m. for a disturbance report, found medics performing CPR on Lange’s 51-year-old alleged boyfriend, who was later pronounced dead at Swedish Hospital. Witnesses claims they saw Lange throw her boyfriend down in the back of the mobile home. She was later found by witnesses with her chest covering the victim’s face. Police noted the size difference between Lange and her boyfriend – she was 5-feet, 6-inches and 192 pounds, he was 5-feet, 7-inches and 175 pounds. Other women around the world are known to have allegedly used their breasts as weapons. In November, German lawyer Tim Schmidt claimed his girlfriend tried to smother him with her breasts. Fulanis residing at Odessa, Onyagede in Ohinmini Local Government Area of Benue State have raised the alarm over the burning of about twenty of their houses. Spokesman of the Fulanis, Mallam Anaruwa Abdullahi, disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday, stating that the incident took place when they were away grazing their cattle. Meanwhile, in his reaction, the chairman of Ohimini Local Government Area of the state, Mr Sunday Mark, who described the incident as unfortunate, promised to channel the request of the victims to the appropriate quarters.

There Is No Alternative To BreastFeeding

Working mothers face the challenge of chest- feeding their children up to the required six months and many factors contribute to this. Blessing Ukemena finds out from doctors why this chest milk is so important even as mothers lament what they pass through. Only about 13 per cent of Nigerian children are exclusively breastfed for up to six months. This is according to a UNICEF research conducted in Nigeria in August 2012. A development which points to the fact that most Nigerian children are deprived of this essential form of nutrition. Speaking to Dr. Folayun, a pediatrician at the Zankli Medical center, she said that working mothers rarely breastfeed their children to the required six months sometimes due to no fault of theirs. “The number one factor against this six months exclusive breastfeeding or ‘baby friendly’ is that most work places only give a period of three months maternity leave which is not enough. If the baby needs to feed for six months and the mother’s leave is just three months after delivering, then there is a problem. When she returns to work, she is under more stress and this will cause her not to lactate properly, that is, the milk flow will reduce. Another factor is that most work places are not baby friendly. Some mothers have been sacked because they brought their babies to work. Breastfeeding itself is not allowed in some work places and so mothers have to keep the baby with a nanny or in a day care center.” She said. Dr. Rita Idemudia , the Senior Consulting Pediatrician at the General Hospital, Wuse Zone 3 was of a different opinion. In an interview with Leadership Sunday, she said that the lack of will and ignorance on the part of the mother are two factors that do not allow working mothers to chest feed their babies up to the required six months. “We have found that most mothers are not willing to do exclusive chest-feeding for six months because they just believe it cannot be done. Some say that the milk is not enough so they have to use substitutes. As a mother, one has to make up her mind right from pregnancy period that she will chest feed till six months so that she will be prepared for any eventuality. Another thing is that most mothers are ignorant on how to properly place a child during breastfeeding. The baby has to be placed tummy to tummy with the mother. She should be sitting comfortably with her hand supporting the baby’s bottom. As a working mother, you should also prepare your child for when you will resume work. First, you have to learn how much your baby needs per meal, be it 30 ml or 90ml then you can express the required chest milk into a sterilized feeder so that your baby will not be hungry when you leave him with a nanny” Mrs Jane Nwafor is a mother of two boys and currently a house wife in the FCT. She told leadership sunday that she is exclusively breastfeeding her younger son who is about 5months old. “I could not do baby friendly with my older son because I was working then but now I am at home, I want to give my younger son only chest milk till he is six months old. It is not very easy because you have to eat very well yourself or you will be feeling dizzy all the time.” She stated. Mrs. Jeremiah however said that her two children, who are boys, stopped taking chest milk after one month. “I don’t know why, but both my sons refused to take chest milk after one month. They just refused it, so I had to start giving them pap and baby formula. My mother told me that I had rejected chest milk myself so maybe it is hereditary”. To this, Dr. Idemudia said that there are rare cases of children who wean themselves of chest milk but that the alternative is not to use substitutes but to express the milk in a feeder for the baby to take and if such continues, then the mother can go to health professionals for assistance. Mrs Okenesi, a working mother who was at the Wuse General Hospital to get her baby immunised, said she now takes palm wine to help the flow of her chest milk. “I usually chest feed my babies exclusively till about 5months but it is not easy. Some weeks back I noticed that my chest milk was not flowing much and I was told to take more liquids. I took more tea than usual but it did not help so I decided to take palm wine and the chest milk is flowing well now. My baby who is now three months will take the milk to his satisfaction” she said. Dr Idemudia also stated that there is no such thing as not enough chest milk for any child as God has made it in such a way that no matter the size of your chest there is enough for the baby. She explained that chest milk is in two parts, the fore milk which contains more of water and the hind milk which has more fats and is the main meal for the child, “Most mothers say that the milk is not enough for the child but that is a wrong notion. If a mother keeps shifting the child from chest to chest the baby just gets the watery part of the milk from both chest as such the baby is often hungry, sleeps less and is more prone to disease. But a well fed child has high immunity against infections, he has all the nutrients to grow well and perform better in school than other kids that are not well chest fed.” She said.via....information nigeria.com

The U.S. researchers asked 331 young men and women about how they lost their virginity, including whether they felt scared, pressured, guilty or regretful. They were also asked about how connected they felt to their partner, including whether they felt respected and loved, and how they felt afterwards. The volunteers, who answered the questions anonymously, were then asked to fill in an online diary detailing any s*xual experiences they had over the next fortnight. They were also asked how they would rate their s*xual relationships overall. In more than two-thirds of cases, the volunteers said they were in a relationship when they lost their virginity. Analysis of their answers showed that those who were most emotionally satisfied the first time still found their s*x lives the most fulfilling. The same was true of physical satisfaction. Researcher Carrie Smith, of the University of Mississippi, said: ‘These results suggest that one’s first-time s*xual experience is more than just a milestone in development. ‘Rather, it appears to have implications for their s*xual well-being years later.’ Co-researcher Matthew Shaffer, of the University of Tennessee, said that while the study doesn’t prove that a better first time makes for a better s*x life in general, a person’s experience of losing their virginity may set the pattern for years to come. ‘The happier the experience initially, on the whole, the happier in future‘ – s*x Academy author Dr Pam Spurr ‘In essence, first-time s*xual experience may create a general pattern of thought and behaviour that we use to guide us in new s*xual experiences and a framework for our understanding, perception or interpretation of new information concerning se*uality.’ Those taking part in the study were relatively young but the researchers said it is ‘highly plausible’ that the same would be true decades later, with someone’s s*x life in their 40s reflecting their experiences in their teens. Dr Pam Spurr, an agony aunt and author of s*x Academy, said their theory rings true. ‘The happier the experience initially, on the whole, the happier in future. It just kind of sets you up for good experiences. ‘I also find that when people who had first-time experiences they felt unhappy about, perhaps they felt pressurised, or too young, or felt used because they thought the person was in love with them too but the feeling wasn’t reciprocated, it sets a pattern for feeling they are more likely to make bad choices in future. ‘Losing your virginity is such an important aspect of our development as people, that if your first time is poor, rather than learning from it, a lot of people harbour the negative feelings.’ Previous studies have concluded that most people have s*x for the first time between the ages of 15 and 17, with men more likely to enjoy the experience than women. In one study, only around a quarter of females said they were ‘considerably’ or ‘extremely’ satisfied physically – the response given by around two-thirds of the men. Men also found the experience more psychologically satisfying, although the gap between the sexes was smaller.

Suspected Money Launderer Arrested By Customs With $767,500

A suspected money launderer, Yusuf Taofeeq Olanrewaju, has been nabbed by the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Murtala Muhammed International Airport Command with $767,500. In a statement, the NCS said Taofeeq, with passport number A03758685, was arrested while trying to board an Emirates flight number EK782 to Hong Kong via Dubai through the E wing of the Lagos airport.
The passenger and the said amount have been handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for further investigation it further said.
The public relations officer of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Airport Command Office, Mrs Thelma Williams, said though the passenger declared the said amount on the prescribed forms CDF1A and CDF1B, he could not explain satisfactorily the source of the money.
Williams explained that upon investigations, by Customs, the passenger was observed to be a frequent traveller. “Upon investigation, the passenger, Yusuf Taofeeq Olarewaju was noted as a frequent traveller with currency as follows: on April 27, 2012, $182,000, which he took to Hong Kong.
