Help us!!! Fulanis in Benue Cry out, 20 Houses Burnt

Fulanis residing at Odessa, Onyagede in Ohinmini Local Government Area of Benue State have raised the alarm over the burning of about twenty of their houses. Spokesman of the Fulanis, Mallam Anaruwa Abdullahi, disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday, stating that the incident took place when they were away grazing their cattle. Mallam Abdullahi said property ranging from generators, television, clothing, and other household items to cash valued at over N300, 000 were destroyed during the fire incident. In the meantime, as a result of the destruction, the affected herdsmen are currently taking refuge under trees. However, a former state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Sule Audu, who visited the scene of the incident, expressed shock at the level of damage and called on the chairman of the council both the state and national emergency management agency, to come to the aid of the victims. Meanwhile, in his reaction, the chairman of Ohimini Local Government Area of the state, Mr Sunday Mark, who described the incident as unfortunate, promised to channel the request of the victims to the appropriate quarters.
